Jo-ey Tang is an artist, writer, and curator, who experiments with the formats of versions, repetitions, and iterations as an ongoing engagement with time and its potential. Solo and duo exhibitions include Le Komplot, Brussels; Taylor Macklin Zurich, Galveston, Texas; and Treignac Projet, Treignac, France (with Jason Henrik Hansma). Group exhibitions include Juf project at digestivo, Madrid; Backroom at Kunsthalle Zürich; Fondation d’Entreprise Ricard; Musée d'art contemporain de la Haute-Vienne, France; Denniston Hill, Woodridge, New York; Jan Van Eyck Academie, Maastricht; IAC - Institut d'art contemporain, Villeurbanne / Rhône-Alpes, France; and The Suburban, Oak Park, Illinois.

He has curated exhibitions and projects at Centre Pompidou, Paris; FUTURA Centre for Contemporary Art, Prague; kim? Contemporary Art Centre, Riga; Blaffer Art Museum, University of Houston; KADIST San Francisco; The Lab, San Francisco; and chi k11 Art Museum, Shanghai. His ongoing project since 2015, arms ache avid aeon: Nancy Brooks Brody / Joy Episalla / Zoe Leonard / Carrie Yamaoka: fierce pussy amplified, unfolds as exhibition chapters examining personal and collective art practices of art collective fierce pussy, have taken place at Beeler Gallery at Columbus College of Art & Design (2018-2019); Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia (2019); Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2023); and Participant Inc (2025).

He has served in a range of institutional roles, as Director at KADIST San Francisco, Director of Exhibitions at Beeler Gallery at Columbus College of Art & Design; curator at Palais de Tokyo, Paris, as well as arts editor of n+1. He is an advisory committee member of Slash, San Francisco.
